Kona is a very loving dog. She gets along great with people. She suddenly started to get aggressive with my moms female dog so we have to find another home for her. We also had a male st. bernard that she got along great with so im thinking her aggression is a form of dominance and towards females but not certain. Other than that she loves cuddling and being around people. She loves laying in the kiddie pool and ice cubes. Unfortunatly we have to move and thats why we need to find another home for her.

Max is a beautiful Italian Mastiff. He is a great dog with people and kids. We Adopted Max about 1-3 months ago. He's has had obedience school is house trained and currently sleeps with us in the house. He can be aggressive to cats and squirrels we have had problems with both. He has never been aggressive towards people or kid. Max is up to date on all shots and flea and tick meds. We have to find a new home for Max we just can't keep him at our home any longer. Mastiff    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered

Wife and I observed what previous owner described in shelter abandonment note (tied Moose to fence, and left) stating Moose had 'gone after another dog'. Owner clearly had zero experience with large breed dogs, and if anyone looks at Castaic Animal Shelter's video (Los Angeles County), they will see how well this dog does behave, and why he passed his temperament test with an A, even though previous owner requested Rescue Only status, which is quite ridicules, and prevents Moose from being adopted. So shelter people, we need your help, as placing this kid shouldn't take much time at all!!!

#Bison is soooo cute- all 91lbs of him. He is listed as a 2yo #mastiff, and he was found as a stray on 4/27. He has a cold but his meds are almost done. He seemed pretty broken down when I saw him, so I don't really know what his personality is like (UPDATE: he is really sweet and loves affection). I just know that he's all kinds of cute.     My name is Lindy. Some people call me Belinda the beauty. I was rescued from the Riverside shelter not too long ago. I was sent there after being found wandering the streets. I don't know how long I wandered but I was still pretty healthy when I arrived to the shelter. The shelter was a stressful place, but fortunately for me, I got to have a cell mate that I could cuddle with and play with. She was my best friend. Lucky for me, some people noticed me and found me a home that I could stay at for a while - you know, couch surf - until I can find my new forever home. Then the best thing happened! I got adopted! But now after 6 months (5/17) I ... (Read More)am being returned because my owner's mom is really sick and unable to care for both her and me. So I'm the one who loses. I am heartbroken but at least I am back with K9 Kismet, where I am so loved. I am big dog friendly, LOVE kids, house trained and I need a new home. Let's meet--you will fall in love. (Less)

Mastiff    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet BELLA | AVAILABLE SOON! | SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ONLY | EMAIL: ADOPTIONS@WAGGINGDOG.ORG ---) La vita ̬ bella. Life is beautiful. We know our grey brindle girl Bella thinks so! Our sweet orphan Bella came from the OC shelter in December where she was not made available for adoption due to her fear of the world. She'd had a recent litter and was in poor shape and super thin, fur dull and lifeless and missing in several places. We haven't had an easy time of it either, with her first foster home not working out and having to board this terrified dog at a noisy kennel for the last two months. Thankfully another family has offered to ... (Read More)help our pup, and she leaves the scary boarding kennel this weekend for a warm, quiet foster home. Yay Bella!! We've been doing our best to provide nourishment and care for Bella while stuck in boarding, but working on skin and health stuff is never easy in any kennel situation. She looked terrible when she first arrived at our kennel two months ago, but with the help of dedicated volunteers who take her out for walks and home for medicated baths, she's definitely looking a lot better. Her fur has filled in and she's put on a little weight. We know those improvements will continue once she's in a good foster home. Bella is a little over 60 lbs and could still use more weight on her petite frame. She's under 2 years old, just a puppy, with a corso style docked tail and thankfully whole ears (yay! #stopthecrop). Bella is puppy clumsy, like a female Marmaduke BOL, and we're trying to help her gain confidence and trust so she can live a less anxious life with the right family. Bella is as gorgeous on the inside as out. She's a sweet young girl who desperately wants to be loved. She attaches quickly to people she learns to trust and gets along well with most other dogs (though very little dogs and very small children may get bowled over by her enthusiasm). She has a medium energy and will make a great house pet, and with the help of her loving foster parents, she'll be perfecting her house manners and skills while building confidence with her surroundings. We can't wait to see her learn to be a dog again, with the help of her ambassadog foster fur brother :) Stay tuned for pupdates as we're finally able to get Bella's rehab underway! ---) IN THE MEANTIME, PLEASE VIEW THE LATEST ON BELLA ON FACEBOOK AT: https://www.facebook.com/pg/waggingdogrescue/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1363930796964751 (Less)

Oggy Doggy Approx. 8 years old Around 120 pounds Extremely loving, just wants to sunbathe and get belly rubs. Good with other dogs He came into the East Valley Shelter as a stray and became a volunteer favorite. He is absolutely stunning. He's a bit under weight, we are working on bulking him up. He's a puller on the leash but it's more out of excitement to go to the grass to roll around. He seems very appreciative but at the same time sad. I wish he could tell us his story.     Go BIG and let's go HOME together! Yoshi is a gentle giant Mastiff mix who weighs approximately 120 lbs. He is friendly and likes other big social female dogs. Ball doesn't interest him much, but he may challenge you to pick up a rope and play tug-o-war'|but he'll probably win! He is still young and we are working on helping him understand that there's no need for him to function as a tugboat, and jumping up to give hugs is not always appreciated. He would do best with a big-dog savvy family with respectful children who won't treat him as an amusement park ride. Meet him at #AkitaRanch 28930 Ellis Ave, Romoland, CA (open 10-5 7days) or ...     Apollo lives up to his name. Manly Beauty, intelligence and strength. We liken him to THE ROCK. He is gorgeous with a heart of gold. Appollo is a 5-year-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever Mix. He is gorgeous, strong, affectionate, fun loving, loves water, loves to play and loves to go for long walks. During some of his walks, he likes to go into the tall grass and look for lizards. During the summer he enjoys getting rinsed down by a cool shower or hose. Apollo has been known to hang out on the couch or under your feet when you are working. He also loves the beach, he loves the water and loves the birds. He is in a foster home with small ... (Read More)children and does wonderfully. He would do best as the only dog in the home. People stop this big boy on the street to comment on his gorgeous strong stature and sweet face. He weighs in at about 90 pounds of solid muscle. He follows basic commands, he is neutered, up to date on his shots and is house trained. Like any dog, he needs to be taken out to potty but will let you know when he has to make. He loves to go on car rides. He is agile and can jump up onto the back bed of a truck. He loves to eat his treats and most of all he loves to be around people. He does not require a huge space to live or does here require a yard, he does enjoy his walks though. Please inquire if you would like to meet Apollo. This boy loves to go on walks, loves car rides and will also hang out, snuggle up and watch a movie. He is also smart and resourceful, one time he was found outside of his room just hanging out unphased by the barking dogs.. waiting for his human to let him out to play. He would love to meet you.     Meet SHERMAN --- AVAILABLE! --- EMAIL: ADOPTIONS@WAGGINGDOG.ORG --- SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ONLY --- Oh Shermie! This gentle 95 lb. giant has been part of the WDR family since January 2013. We plucked him from a high kill LA shelter and adopted him to a family that spring. We thought we made a good choice for our boy, but alas he was returned to us in August 2014. His family wasn't able to help him with his separation anxiety (http://dogtime.com/separation-anxiety.html); in fact, they didn't try even though they assured us they'd give him their all. Instead they gave him all of their food and treats but no exercise or mental stimulation to ... (Read More)go with it. He came back to his rescue at 112 lbs., depressed, obese, and having forgotten how to DOG. We were crushed. With the help of a team of dedicated volunteers who spent time with Sherman at his boarding kennel, over the course of the next half year and more we were able to bring Sherman back to himself and remind him about things that balanced dogs like to do (such as using their noses/brains, enjoying the company of other life forms, enjoying the walk). Unfortunately Sherm's distress over being alone in a home setting (but oddly enough, not at the kennel) kept him out of a family and home life. Until Allison. This spring, Shermie was lucky enough to move to our most skilled foster care provider's home, where beefcake brother Briggs is also in foster. Sherm's been working on his crate skills and inside manners, and lo and behold he has a bevy of doggie friends! We are SO proud of him and so thrilled that this beautiful, sweet dog finally gets to enjoy some of the luxuries of a pampered house pet. And we're so grateful to his amazing foster mom Allison, with Peticularly Perfect - North San Diego Pet Care, for giving him this opportunity and teaching him these valuable lessons. Sherm's working hard on his distress level when people are gone and coming to respect the boundaries that have been established. Even though he's a big mushy love, he's still got a stubborn streak as wide as his forehead ;) and like most blockheads, he tests limits with each new person he meets. When his miracle worker foster momma deems him ready to leave her care, we hope Sherm can find a FOREVER family who can take over where she leaves off. She'll ensure his future family has all of the info they need to succeed, and WDR will do everything possible to make his next move a forever success. We'll be looking for DOG SAVVY, large breed experienced folks in Southern CA with another well matched mellow companion dog to keep the boy company. A crystal clear understanding of the importance of leadership in the human-dog relationship is a must, must, must. Homeowners preferred in a single family residence with secure backyard. Renters will be required to have renter's insurance and landlord approval. NO CATS at this time. Sherm's working on it but for now, he's not cat tolerant. The big love is bomb proof with humans of any size, the most loving and gentle giant around. If you're interested in being the forever family our Sherminator is working hard to meet, please inquire. ---) To view additional pup-dates and photos of Sherman, please visit him on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.546234702067702.125556.294289027262272&type=3 ---) To view Sherman in action, please visit his YouTube video playlist at: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKp8buw7HyCallz74y3QUxY_82hk2n5Ev (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in California
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in California if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
