Rescue Me ID: 15-02-26-00130Dunkin (male)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This is Dunkin. We have had since he was 5 weeks old. He is a great animal but a little ruff around the edges. He was attacked by another dog around 6 months old so he does not do well with other dogs. He is super loving and does awesome with my two toddlers but he also likes space sometimes. My husband is in the military, and we can not find housing that will accept him. I have searched multiple rescues in the area we are in and surrounding areas of our home town with no luck! The humane society told me flat out they would euthanize him due to his dog aggression. I know this is something that can be worked on because with slow, supervised ... (Read More)in a controlled envioent he did well with meeting my mothers dog. My 'fee' is not a set price. My main concern is he is not used for malicious intents and that he gets another loving home he deserves. (Less)

Animal ID: 583Dulcey (female)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Dulcey Female Shar Pei/Boxer/Mastiff Mix 1.5 years old 53 lbs. Dulcey - you know, kind of like the Spanish word for 'sweet?' That's me, Dulcey the sweetie-pie! My loving disposition and caring mama skills have earned me the name, and without trying to brag, I'd say I live up to it! Of course, it's not the name but how you express yourself that counts, and I'm hoping to find a home where I can settle in as just one more big-hearted member of the family. PawsCo brought me and my four beautiful pups to Denver from Texas, where we were roughing it alone without a family. It wasn't easy, but we're all doing great - just a few scrapes here and ... (Read More)there but nothing a little TLC from my new family won't fix. I love being a mama, but I'm really looking forward to finding a family who wants to pamper me a little bit, and hopefully where I can get some much-earned down time! Although I can be a little shy around new men, I do love humans of all shapes and sizes, and I look forward to getting to know lots of new friends. If you've already got four-legged family members, I'd just love to meet them! I'm a lady and all, but like any athletic youngster, a good rumble around the backyard or some laidback hang time at the dog park always brightens up my day. Dog toys are also fascinating to me - I can unstuff a stuffed animal with record speed, and ropes, balls, Frisbees - I'm into all of it. An active human or family who wants to play would be just up my alley. For a sweetie like me, being good in the yard and staying in my crate when necessary come easily. Basic commands are also getting better every day - with a little time spent together, we can probably work out quite the trick routine! I'm eager to please, and eager to find a human or a family who wants me to be happy, too! Let's sniff each other out! Email adopt@pawscoadoptions.org to ask about my schedule, or head over to the adoption application on the PawsCo website if you think we might be a match made in heaven. See you soon, sweeties! Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

Gidget is a sweet, well-behaved dog that has been in the shelter for a while now. Gidget has a beautiful brindle coat with a white chest. Her serious, intense look is in contrast with her playful personality. She is very good on a leash, likes to play, and loves belly rubs. She is a good girl that deserves a chance for a loving home.

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-01-00116Bruno (male)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis, Fearful/Anxious

Bruno was rescued by a family member from an abandoned apartment in Commerce City when he was approximately three or four months old. He has occasional fear of deep or loud voices which causes him to tuck his tail and go in the opposite direction. He has skin allergies. He's been seen by two separate vets (records can be obtained) within the past three years. His last vaccinations (rabies vaccination) was last spring 2014 at Huron Animal Hospital. He's very loyal and very sweet. His skin allergies have been treated with vitamins and diet. He loves to go on walks and we've taken him camping. He doesn't jump on furniture or on people ... (Read More)because he has slightly low energy and possible arthritis. He occasionally has, what we call, 'happy puddles.' He will tinkle a little in the house if he is suddenly startled by loud noises, but this is very rare. He gets along with smaller and larger dogs. He can be food aggressive towards other dogs if he is disturbed while eating. He has never been around cats or other animals, only other dogs and people. He has been very good with our four year old since our son was a baby. We need to find a new home for him because my husband has developed pretty severe allergies. Since Bruno has skin allergies, and when my husband handles Bruno, he becomes asthmatic around Bruno. We don't want to give him up, we love him very much. But my husband is having a hard time breathing and we need to find a good, loving home for Bruno. Please only contact us if you are TRULY interested in adopting him and keeping him. He has a kind spirit and is a very loving animal. Thank you. (Less)

Hi, my name is Big Red, and I'm just as sweet as I am BIG. I absolutely LOVE to snuggle, play, and go for walks. My super-sensitive nose can search out any hidden food in the house... I love this game! I need a home with a human who is a strong leader; one who is familiar with my large, strong breed and who will provide the training necessary to improve on my social skills (like learning to share with other dogs) and separation anxiety. I absolutely LOVE children, and sometimes, I catch myself longingly watching them play from afar and I miss the family that I used to know. I would thrive in a home with older children (age 10+) because I ... (Read More)am a little clumsy around the younger ones. I would also prefer a home where I am the only pet. I enjoy car rides and just like sitting in the back minding my own business. I guess it is relaxing for me because sometimes I will settle in for a nice snooze. I am working on leash training and at learning some other cool skills, and I've heard rumblings that I'm smart and easy to train, so with consistency I know I'll be at the top of my class in no time. I get pretty excited for treats (especially carrots), and take them gently, so this could be a great motivator for me to learn new things. I'm an active and strong guy and would love a busy, active family, with people who might take me for a morning jog. I'm also content laying around indoors with you on rainy days. Fun Fact: I love chasing grasshoppers! Don't let my big 'ole toothy smile scare you because I am a submissive fellow and just giving you a big 'welcome home' grin! If you are looking to add a big, handsome guy to your family and are willing to continue my social skills training, then please fill out the paperwork to make me part of your home - my forever home! Adoption fee is $175 which covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, heart worm test and spay/neuter . Adoption fees also allow us to continue saving animals. Please email ARRColorado@gmail.com for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application here . Since I am a Pitbull Mix, I can't be adopted or fostered in the following banned areas: Denver, Aurora, Castle Rock, Commerce City, Ft Lupton, Lone Tree, or Louisville. (Less)

Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
