Andre Labrador Retriever/Mastiff Mix Male 2 years old 60 lbs. Pleased to meet you, sirs and madams! I'm Andre, and I'll be your guide today. We take manners seriously around here; I'll politely ask that you remain on the path and follow the assigned route. I'm very experienced in my position as Head Tour Guide, so if you have any questions or would like to see any of my tricks, please just raise your hand and I'll call on you. My background in tennis ball chasing began when I was just a pup, and I'm proud to say that I've become quite the dog toy expert. Although I'm a youngster, I'm exceptionally smart and learn quickly - how many dogs ... (Read More)do you know who will listen when you ask them to go 'slow' ... and actually do it!? That's me, Andre the Giant (giant smartypants, that is)! I'm quite the love bug - affectionate and SUPER happy snuggling with my family. However I should mention that I'm not a huge fan of new people coming into my space. I am more interested in spending quiet time with the people I love. Strangers in my domain make me a little uneasy. My foster family describes me as quite possibly the most snugglicious dog they've ever met - and I don't mind sounding like a big teddy bear. I'm smart, loving with my family, and I enjoy hanging with new dogs when I can play with them outside my own space. I have pretty high standards for my own house, but if you take me to doggie daycare, where I don't have to play tour guide, I will let loose and be my goofball self! I'm hoping to find a family looking for the strong, silent type who really can appreciate the depth of my love - it doesn't come out in large crowds or at big parties. I'm a family man - smart and obedient, but serious about keeping a close eye on my humans. My favorite thing is to just snuggle up after a good long play session and show my family how much I love them. Are you looking for a 'still waters run deep' kind of guy to join your pack? Let's set up a meeting and I'll show off some of my tricks. I hope we'll be a match. Email adopt@pawscoadoptions.org to set up a date! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-08-00488Kyah (female)

Mastiff    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Kyah is a 3 year old English Mastiff. I am looking to find a new home with someone who has the time to spend with her. I have a male Mastiff also who is 10 years old. He is old and slow and doesn't mind that I work so many hours. Kyah on the other hand really loves walks and lots of attention! She is not good with small animals at all. She has been around her best friend, Lars the male all of her life. We did try and introduce a small dog and she got a little over excited and tried to bite. We love Kyah very much and don't want to give her up at all, but she just needs more human interaction. She can be aggressive if she doesn't trust a ... (Read More)person. I guess it just depends on the person. Some, she loves right away and won't leave alone, others she may not be happy to be around. She deserves a good home, she will not be happy in a kennel or cage or any kind. She has been in the home and garage and never has been in a cage other than before she got spayed. She wasn't happy at all!! We have only tested her around male dogs, she may be ok with Female. If interested give me a call and I'll tell you more. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in Colorado
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
