Meet Toby! Toby is a purebred Presa Canario and is just over a year old. He is a big boy and will need a breed experienced owner. Toby is truly a sweetheart and loves people. A fenced in yard will be required and adopters must be willing to continue training with him. Toby is house broken, crate trained and good with most dogs. Mastiff    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sorry to say we need to find a new home for our 3 year old female English Mastiff. She needs to be in a loving home where she is the only dog. She's a beautiful brindle with a loving soul. She's a petite mastiff standing about as tall as a golden retriever. For whatever reason she's recently gotten into it with our male and female mastiffs. We love her dearly and are very upset that we have to do this. She is very loyal and loves to sit on the couch and cuddle. She is better with women than men, however her and I (male) has a very strong bond. She just takes time to warm up to men she isn't familiar with.

Rescue Me ID: 16-11-05-00291Macy (female)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This beautiful, gentle girl is Macy. She is about 2 yrs old and 50lbs. We believe she is a bull mastiff possibly shar-pei or pit mix. When we heard this girl's sad story, we felt we had to take her and find her a loving home. Macy was a stray. For 6 months she was seen wandering the streets of a small southern housing community, looking for food & shelter. No one knew where she had come from. And no one cared. Eventually she became pregnant and had a litter of puppies outdoors, only one survived. She stuck by her baby day and night. People would throw her food but no one would help this homeless mom. A rescue stepped in to take her ... (Read More)and the puppy but never showed up. Finally a family in the area agreed to take the puppy, but not mom. But she found her baby and would come back day after day and lay outside the house where it was, even breaking into the porch where it was kenneled so she could lay beside it. This went on for several months until animal control was called. They caught this poor momma dog and took her to the local shelter. But you can't stop a mother's love. That night she broke out of the outside pen and went back to her baby. Again, AC was called and she was taken back to the shelter and put in a secure indoor pen. Her fate seemed sealed until a rescuer stepped in and freed her. Then she came to us. Her eyes were sad. We so wanted to give her back her baby, just for a while. But her fosters loved on her, got her spayed, vetted and healthy. The best thing for Macy, we knew, would be to find a loving home soon. She loves the rescues puppies, I'm sure they remind her of her own. She's shy at first with other dogs but doesn't make a mean sound or raise her fur. She would much rather be held and cuddled than be out playing with the other dogs. You couldn't ask for a sweeter, better behaved girl! Her adoption fee is $150, to help cover the vet expenses. Rescue Me ID: 16-11-05-00114Kane (male)

Mastiff    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Arthritis,
 Abused/Neglected, Incontinent

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Kane is a loving, playful older dog. He does suffer from separation anxiety so needs a home where he won't be alone too much. He comes from a questionable background and was very malnourished with some sort of infection and overgrown nails; he's in much better shape now but still needs more vet care; a complete work up, vaccinations, possibly neutering, and meds for arthritis and a possible muscle strain for which he is currently on a muscle relaxer. He is protective of his person, a bit of a resource guarder, and has urination issues in the house thanks to the separation anxiety- possibly this is ... (Read More)treatable. He likes to play, loves to shred toys for the squeaker inside, will go nuts if he hears a squeaker, tug of war, likes walks. He just needs a place to live out his final years. (Less)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Nugget! Nugget is a big goof ball with no idea of his size. Nugget makes friends easily and love to play hard! Nugget is very smart and very food motivated. His favorite pass time is playing and eating. Once Nugget has had his daily exercise he calms down fairly easy. Nugget would love an active home maybe with a playful pack. He is cat selective and older children would probably be best as he is very clumsy and can easily knock a small child down. He is crate trained and house broken. Could you give Nugget the forever home he is looking for? Interested In Nugget? Please email us or visit our website Animalhousesanctuary@yahoo.com ...     Samson (Sammy) is a purebred Presa Canario. He will need a large breed experienced owner. He is a goofball who is unaware of his size. He enjoys walks, and playing with his foster siblings in the home. He is a happy go lucky dog without a care in the world. He is your typical big dog. If you can't handle slobber he is not your dog! Sammy is very food motivated and loves to go for outings. Sammy is housebroken, but crates tend to scare him. He does better in an open area. Sammy needs a home with another dog for company. He is close to 100 pounds and has a ways to go. He is extremely strong and will need continued leash training. However, he ... (Read More)does great off leash. Mastiff Mix    Age: Puppy

Velvet is a beautiful pit/cane corso mix. She is a year old and is high energy only when first let out of her cage for up to 15 minutes and then she goes much lower key. She doesn't do well with other dogs, but is amazing with people. She needs a good home with plenty of room to move. A very affectionate dog. The only reason for her adoption is our family has become too large and we just don't have the room for her.

Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
