Rescue Me ID: 17-01-18-00075Bucci (male)
THIS IS A CANE CORSO MASTIFF This big boy is Bucci but he's so sweet they nicknamed him, 'Bucci the Smoochie.' He's a 2 year old purebred Cane Corso, weighing 140 lbs, and he's neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He's in a foster home in Indianapolis, but he really wants to be in a forever home. He loves people and giving kisses. He's been around large female dogs with no problems, as long as they are big and playful, but he does not like male dogs. He does have a VERY HIGH PREY DRIVE, so no cats or small dogs, and he does great with children 14 and older. Bucci is well behaved in the house and must have a fenced-in yard. He loves to run and play all day and then snuggle on the couch. We adopt to Indiana and the surrounding states, IN, KY, OH, IL, MI. Applications to adopt at www.DedicatedtoDobes.com (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-11-28-00167Bo (male)
Bo has been a great pet to us for the last 3 years! He is very loyal, and affectionate. He has been an indoor animal, sharing his room with a male labradoodle. He is very good with our family (we have a 1 year old son) but does not have a lot of exposure to others. He is walked on a leash, and obeys a dominant male very well. We need to find this lovable giant a good home!!

Rescue Me ID: 16-11-05-00291Macy (female)
This beautiful, gentle girl is Macy. She is about 2 yrs old and 50lbs. We believe she is a bull mastiff possibly shar-pei or pit mix. When we heard this girl's sad story, we felt we had to take her and find her a loving home. Macy was a stray. For 6 months she was seen wandering the streets of a small southern housing community, looking for food & shelter. No one knew where she had come from. And no one cared. Eventually she became pregnant and had a litter of puppies outdoors, only one survived. She stuck by her baby day and night. People would throw her food but no one would help this homeless mom. A rescue stepped in to take her and the puppy but never showed up. Finally a family in the area agreed to take the puppy, but not mom. But she found her baby and would come back day after day and lay outside the house where it was, even breaking into the porch where it was kenneled so she could lay beside it. This went on for several months until animal control was called. They caught this poor momma dog and took her to the local shelter. But you can't stop a mother's love. That night she broke out of the outside pen and went back to her baby. Again, AC was called and she was taken back to the shelter and put in a secure indoor pen. Her fate seemed sealed until a rescuer stepped in and freed her. Then she came to us. Her eyes were sad. We so wanted to give her back her baby, just for a while. But her fosters loved on her, got her spayed, vetted and healthy. The best thing for Macy, we knew, would be to find a loving home soon. She loves the rescues puppies, I'm sure they remind her of her own. She's shy at first with other dogs but doesn't make a mean sound or raise her fur. She would much rather be held and cuddled than be out playing with the other dogs. You couldn't ask for a sweeter, better behaved girl! Her adoption fee is $150, to help cover the vet expenses. Please email for an application. email@example.com. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-11-05-00114Kane (male)
[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Kane is a loving, playful older dog. He does suffer from separation anxiety so needs a home where he won't be alone too much. He comes from a questionable background and was very malnourished with some sort of infection and overgrown nails; he's in much better shape now but still needs more vet care; a complete work up, vaccinations, possibly neutering, and meds for arthritis and a possible muscle strain for which he is currently on a muscle relaxer. He is protective of his person, a bit of a resource guarder, and has urination issues in the house thanks to the separation anxiety- possibly this is treatable. He likes to play, loves to shred toys for the squeaker inside, will go nuts if he hears a squeaker, tug of war, likes walks. He just needs a place to live out his final years. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-25-00407Harrison (male)
Harrison is a 5 year old male who doesn't always know his size and tends to knock little kids down and will be a bit pushy getting his way if he can, but yell at him and he pouts like a big baby! He loves to lay around the home and feel the softness of a couch. He is quite the Mr. Curiosity and wants to know what EVERYTHING is and what it smells like, this being his mission and with his size, he tends to knock a lot of things over in his adventures. He loves the attention people give, but is weary of strangers. He also likes his time outside to play and loves to go for car rides. He LOVES the dog park where he can run and play with all the dogs. He seems to listen better to men of course, but seems to prefer women. Mom always letting him get away with everything?? Could be. He came to us really underweight so for a while was protective of his food but he now has access to free feed and has shown no signs on wanting to protect his food. He sure loves treats as well! He is housetrained, kennel trained to our 5x5 kennels (has not been put in a wire crate)and boy does he pout when he gets back in his kennel. He tends to be a bit of a crybaby. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, mircochipped and hw negative. *Note Visual Breed Identification is often unreliable for most of the dogs we can only guess the predominant breed or breed mix. |Rescue Me ID: 16-06-28-00647Samson aka Sammy (male)|
Samson is a purebred Presa Canario. He will need a breed experienced owner. He is a goofball who is unaware of his size. Sammy is his nickname. He enjoys walks, and playing with his foster siblings in the home. He is a happy go lucky dog without a care in the world. He is your typical big dog. If you can't handle slobber he is not your dog! Sammy is housebroken, but crates tend to scare him. He does better in an open area or in an indoor kennel. Sammy needs a home with another dog for company. He is close to 100# and has a way to go. He is extremely strong and will need continued leash training. However, he does great off leash. Sammy is ready for his adventure to begin in his loving forever home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-31-00135Beast (male)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-14-00094Velvet (female)
Velvet is a beautiful pit/cane corso mix. She is a year old and is high energy only when first let out of her cage for up to 15 minutes and then she goes much lower key. She doesn't do well with other dogs, but is amazing with people. She needs a good home with plenty of room to move. A very affectionate dog. The only reason for her adoption is our family has become too large and we just don't have the room for her.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in Indiana
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
