Rescue Me ID: 15-01-27-00065Xena (female)
We are moving and we are unable to take our Mastiffs with us. We also have a male Mastiff who is one year younger that we need to re-home. Both dogs are house-trained. The male has NOT been neutered. We would like them to be re-homed together. We would like to keep the dogs until the last week of February or the first week of March if at all possible. Xena does have anxiety during storms or when there are loud noises (thunder, fireworks, etc.) she is fine if she can be near her human. Xena would be fine with an older child/teen but she prefers not to be around the chaos of a younger child.

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-16-00200Pilot (male)
Pilot is a very big, very handsome boy -- a gentle giant who is very people-oriented. When he first came to us, he was a little agitated. Now that he is convinced he will be well-treated and cared for, he is settling down and getting more calm and comfortable here. He loves being outside, but also enjoys being in his kennel. This is not a hyper dog who jumps. He's got his own distinct personality and is quite self-contained. In his kennel, he loves to have bones to chew on and tends to hide them in his bedding. Tho he was given a perfectly good kuranda bed, he prefers to have his bed on the floor. He appears to be totally potty trained. Pilot has some very strong opinions about cats and other dogs. In a nutshell, he doesn't care for them. We would encourage him to be in a home without other animals. But he adores people and will make a loyal and loving companion for the right person. With a little PAC love and care Sugga is putting on weight nicely! Although she still has about 35 lbs to go, she is really coming out of her shell and her personality is shining threw. Sugga is one of the sweetest Mastiffs I've ever met! Come on out Friday- Saturday 11-2 to meet her or call 574-946-0265 to schedule an appointment. ~Jaime

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-04-00019Smoke (male)
**** This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Waldo's Muttley Crew Animal Rescue. PLEASE EMAIL: Lisa@hotblownglass.com **** So,he weighs 100lbs or so!! He is so, so happy. And playful. And gregarious. And house trained. And crate trained. His is big and tall and wants to be taller so he does still put his feet up on edge of counter to get closer to you for big hugs and a rub down. Again...he is a big chunky happy guy, so he needs a soft bed. He develops pressure point sores very quickly. So soft beds are a necessity. He is neutered. Microchipped. And current on all shots. Smoke is Sharpei/Mastiff/??mix. He has seasonal allergies which are easily treated with OTC allergy meds. His being part Sharpei means he has a minor and treatable Sharpei genetic trait that causes his lower eyelid to roll under and irritate his eyes. The allergies aggravate this issue, but does not seem to bother him at other times. Smoke was an owner surrender when family had to downsize into a smaller living environment and had to ask a rescue to take him in until he found his new forever family and home. Age-2-3yrs old (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-01-01-00252Ragnar (male)
He is an 8-9 month old puppy who we adopted a couple of weeks ago. His last owner failed to tell us that he has severe separation anxiety. We left him alone for less than a half hour and he tore down our bathroom door. He is the best dog in the world, until you leave him alone. He weighs 105lbs, and is expected to get bigger. He is a sweetheart, but has to go. We have tried the crate, he destroyed it, tried meds, didn't do anything, tried leaving lights on and blinds up for him, he still chewed the blinds. We have tried a lot and are saddened to part with him, but he needs someone better. Preferably someone that can stay with him as much as possible. He is good with kids, and dogs. Female dogs he freaks out a bit, but he doesn't snap or anything. He does hate cats. (Less)

Pilot is a gentle giant, weighing in around 80 lbs. He has a quiet demeanor and loves just to be around people, so much so that he will jump over a 6' fence to be with the people he loves! He is a very intelligent dog and is hoping to find his forever home. Pilot would like to be an inside dog. adoption fee includes neuter, vaccinations, worming, heartworm check (negative) and microchip. Apply on-line at duboiscountyhumane.org/apply.html

Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
