Rescue Me ID: 16-02-02-00511Leah (female)
Leah is such a sweet girl. She is 2 years old and is great with female humans and smaller male dogs. When I rescued her, she had been abused by a young male in the household and placed outside on a chain in the backyard where she acquired many bites from flies and gnats on her ears making them bleed and scab. She has since been in good health with me. She is picky about her food and we only feed her 'no grain' foods, currently on NutriSelect brand. She needs to not be around men or boys. She tends to be aggressive towards them. She is very smart and has a very fun personality! She will talk to you! We feel it is time to move her on to a permanent home where she will get all the attention she needs and can be an only pet or close to it. She will be great with a female adult who can give her their full attention! She's high energy and loves to run and play :) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-30-00377Sadie (female)
THIS IS A PURE BRED PRESA CANARIO-NOT A MASTIFF*** Sadie is the other Presa Canario coming into our rescue. She's a 3 year old, big 135 pound rare Presa Canario pure breed dog. She's spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. She loves people and she's good with other large dogs as long as they know she's the boss. Sadie is not good with little dogs or cats and she might accidentally knock over a small child. She needs a fenced in yard to burn off all her energy and she loves to go for car rides. She lives with her 1 year old Presa sister, Jazzy, who also has to find a new home. They do love each other so a home with another dog sibling would be great for Sadie. She knows sit, down, and come but would still benefit from an obedience class. Sadie is potty trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. She is being fostered in Lafayette, In. We adopt to Indiana and the surrounding states. More information and applications can be found at www.DedicatedToDobes.com and don't forget to 'Like' our Facebook page. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-29-00605Clark (male)
Meet Clark. He is a big ol' baby. Seriously. He weighs about 80 pounds and is only 9 months old! We know that his mom is a full-blooded white German shepherd. Dad is unknown, but we are thinking mastiff-ish. We are certain that Clark is not finished growing, so this big baby might turn into a giant baby when it's all said and done. Clark is very friendly with people of all ages. He lives with kids and even does great when the kids' friends come to visit too. He has been around toddlers and seems to know that he has to be extra careful when they are around. He is well behaved for his age, but does have to be reminded of some basic manners from time to time. Unfortunately, Clark has not had a lot of experience on leash or in the car. He really hasn't been in many public places either. When we met him, he had to endure all of those things and did a great job all things considered. Clark loves to play with balls and to run around his yard. He will need a fenced yard and someone who will teach about the leash gradually. Although Clark currently lives with a yorkie mix and loves the little dog, we think that any dog to dog introductions with Clark go very slowly. Like we mentioned above, Clark has not left his house much and is a little nervous outside of his comfort zone. We do not know how Clark is with cats. Clark will be brought up to date on his vetting on Tuesday, February 2. He will have current shots, be neutered, and be microchipped. Clark is solidly housebroken and great in his crate. If you are interested in Clark, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $175. If you have any questions, please find us on Facebook or email us at pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com. The completed application is the first step of the adoption process before any meet and greets are completed. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-29-00084Trooper (male)
ATTR was lucky enough to be able to pull Trooper & Rodger from Aurora AC. They trusted that we would find them a home to be adopted into together. Trooper is a 5 year old American Bulldog mix and Rodger is a 3 year old French Bulldog. We are looking for a home that can adopt them together. They spent a week with us in our adoption center and did great with kids and people of all ages and gender. They really seem to like everyone. Trooper does not do well with cats, so we are looking for a home without cats for sure. If there are other dogs in the home we would want slow introductions to be done and work with our Trainer and Rescue Team members to get our bonded pair integrated into a home with dogs already. Trooper and Rodger are currently in a foster home with kids. Rodger the French Bulldog appears to be healthy for a French Bulldog but we would the adopters to be prepared to deal with all medical issues that may arise with the breed. They are a really fun pair of dogs to be around and really love people. They have been through a lot losing their family, spending time in our adoption center and now a foster home. We hope to find a forever home soon for them that will take their time to get to know them and really spend time getting them settled into a family they can call their own. Trooper & Rodger are looking for their forever home together! Fill out an application online in the Get Involved section at www.alsiptotherescue.org to meet them. THEY ARE A BONDED PAIR AND MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER. Trooper is not a fan of cats, so no cats. We are not sure about other dogs yet. POTENTIAL ADOPTERS NEED TO FILL OUT AN APPLICATION ONLINE. Fill out an application online in the Get Involved section at www.alsiptotherescue.org to be considered for adoption. Alsip To The Rescue (ATTR) strives as a rescue to make sure that when our adopters take home their new rescue they feel they have the support and access to all resources which ATTR can provide. If you want to learn how you can set your new rescue up to succeed and blend in with your family come to our Meet The Trainer sessions each weekend. We will give you tips on what to do when you first bring home a new rescue. Saturday at Noon in St John and Sunday at Noon in Frankfort are free Meet The Trainer sessions with more free sessions to be added during the week soon. Fill out an application in the Get Involved section to meet our rescues. www.alsiptotherescue.org! They will come with some free training sessions to help get them transitioned into a forever home. ***SHE IS NOT A MASTIFF BUT A PURE BREED PRESA CANARIO**** Welcome Jazz to Dedicated to Dobermans Rescue. She's 105 pounds of all happy wiggle-butt. Jazz is a one year old, rare Presa Canario pure breed dog. She's spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. She's a really sweet puppy that loves to play and give kisses. She loves people, kids, and other dogs but she's such a big and strong puppy that she might accidentally knock over a small child. Jazz needs a fenced in yard to burn off all her energy and she loves to go for car rides. She lives with her almost 3 year old Presa sister, Sadie, who also has to find a new home. They do love each other so a home with another dog sibling would be great for Jazzy. She's not had any obedience training, but she's very smart and loves to learn so that would also be great for her. Jazz is potty trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. She is being fostered in Lafayette, In. We adopt to Indiana and the surrounding states. |PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in Indiana|
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
