Rescue Me ID: 18-06-12-00383Lincoln (male)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Talk about a handsome hunk! Lincoln is about 3 years old. He is one cool dude, for sure! He has been very loved and well-taken care of his whole life. Lincoln has done great with other dog-friendly dogs! He also used to live with cats! He is very playful with cats, so any resident feline should enjoy the company of dogs as he definitely interacts (nicely, though!). We are watching his daily interactions at the shelter with other animals. He is quite the funny fellow. He thinks he is a five-pound lap dog! When in reality he weighs nearly 80 pounds! Lincoln has a decent amount of energy! He will need a family that likes to be active. ... (Read More)Lincoln loves to snuggle but can be a bit of a bed hog, but all with good intentions of sharing with you. Lincoln is respectful of kiddos given that they are equally respectful of him. He's actually lived with all ages of children! Given his energy level and size, children over 8 years would probably be best. He loves to work for treats! Even though he already knows how to sit, come, and shake paws - he really liked learning! Lincoln walks nicely on a leash for the most part! He can get excited sometimes, but knows how to reel it in! We adore him already - you will, too! Come and see! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-05-17-00465Holden (male)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Please read entire description. If ad is still available, we are still accepting applications. Please complete an adoption application on our website as the first and required step of the adoption process. His adoption fee is $75 Meet Holden. This handsome mixed breed, hunk was a stray that was never claimed. We guess him to be about 1.5 years old and his mix is a mystery as well. We honestly have no idea! His coloring and his beautiful eyes do him no justice. He is stunning in person. He weighs about 67 pounds. This guy lives to play! He is a pro at fetch and loves to play with other toys. Holden knows several commands and is great ... (Read More)snuggling on the couch. He is quiet dog and very observant. He is by far one of the smartest and coolest dogs we have met. Holden seems uninterested in most other dogs and clearly has met a couple that he does not prefer. This indicates he would prefer to be an only pet in the home. We are unsure how he does with cats, but we guess he would chase cats. Holden would do well with children who are gentle. Toddlers make him nervous but children over 5 or 6 who know to leave him alone when he is chewing his bones would be fine. Holden is kennel trained and house trained. He has even been left out in a room while alone and has been trustworthy. Holden rides well in the car. Overall, this guy would be an excellent exercise companion, best friend, and protector. Since he was able to spend some time in a home, we know that he does well and makes a great family member. Holden is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, microchipped and neutered. If you are interested in meeting this guy, please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. (Less)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Dually. Dually is a 3 year old presa canario who was rescued from a breeder. Dually can have some trust issues and will need continued training to help build her confidence. She does well with other dogs once she has built trust with them and over time. She typically avoids other dogs and would do well as the only dog in her forever home. She is very laid back and food motivated. Dually is an amazing dog once you break down her walls and gain her trust. Dually is house and crate trained. She would do well as the only dog. Dually is okay around older children. Her owner needs to be strong both mentally and physically as this is a ... (Read More)strong girl! An experienced owner is a must. Dually just needs someone to give her the chance and work with her. You won't be disappointed. Adoption fee: $250 Last updated 2/1/18 Interested in this dog/cat? Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Toby! Toby is a Presa Canario and is 2 years old (born Dec 2015). Toby arrived at the sanctuary unsure of everything and zero confidence. He has since opened up. He is a big boy completely unaware of his size. He can be a big scaredy cat who loves to play and can be extremely affectionate. He is afraid of the dark. However, he is also very stubborn and bullheaded and doesn't know his own strength. Toby must have a breed experienced owner and needs someone who will be committed to working with him and training him. A strong minded and very assertive owner is a must. He has made great improvement on walking on a leash and does well. Toby ... (Read More)is a strong boy and his adopters will need to continue training with him after adoption. Toby is house and crate trained and good with most dogs. Toby needs to be in a home with no children or cats. A fenced in yard is required. Toby has to have certified training with his new owners. Toby just wants a loving forever home. Could you give that to sweet boy Toby? Adoption fee: $250 Last updated 4/14/18 Interested in this dog/cat? Rescue Me ID: 16-09-10-00389Nugget (male)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Nugget is a 2 year old lab/mastiff mix and is a BIG boy weighing in at 75 pounds. Nugget came to us when he was 5 months old. His previous 'family' had left him behind when they moved out of their apartment. It was over a week before Nugget was discovered in a crate in the abandoned apartment. He was pretty malnourished too. Another tenant took him in but he quickly outgrew the 25 pound weight limit and that is when we took him in. Nugget is an absolute goof who is completely unaware of his size. He is constantly tripping over his feet and you can't help but laugh at his silly demeanor. Nugget's two favorite past times are playing and ... (Read More)eating. He is definitely a follower. He is a super smart boy and picks things up quickly, it is cute when you can see the wheels turning. :) After Nugget has had his daily play/exercise he calms down fairly easy. Nugget needs to have an active home with at least one other dog (the more the merrier). He needs a fenced in yard that is at least 6 ft high, he can jump really high. No kitties for this guy. He would be best in a home with no children or older children as he is very clumsy and can easily knock a small child down unintentionally. He is crate trained and house broken, neutered and up to date on all vaccines. Nugget is a sweet, goofy boy that deserves a happy forever. Could you be his forever home?
