Rescue Me ID: 17-09-17-00128Elvis (male)

Mastiff    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Elvis is another GREAT dog that has been with this rescue way too long for how awesome hie is. Elvis is looking for a family that understands a guardian breed. Hes a big boy but small for his breed 110# Elvis is a Presa Canario 3-5 yrs old neutered and UTD on vet care. Hes not a huge fan of cats but will tolerate them...if they dont run. He has been around a small Boston male and a small female presa and was 'ok' but rather pushy and not allowed total freedom with them. I wouldn't say he is dog aggressive but he is more of a dominate boy. Elvis does great in public, hes been taken out for fun-days going to Bass pro and Pet smart, even walked ... (Read More)around a farmers market!! He loves people and someone has worked with him, he knows several commands and walks wonderfully on a leash (He would make a GREAT hiking buddy) If you are interested in giving Elvis a loving family please fill out your adoption application located on the website or Facebook Page!! Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

I have such great dogs that come threw this rescue... it about kills me to see what people 'toss out' Mojo here is one of them, this guy was a stray no one claimed that had heart worms. Hes a happy healthy boy that loves everyone!! I mean everyone!! this kid doesn't know a stranger... well except a cat he doesn't appreciate their company atall. Mojo is a 3-5 yr old Presa Canario mix, (Google the breed my friends and educate yourself) Now hes not typical of the breed in that hes laidback and a bit lazy but hes small...thats why we say a mix 78# Mojo is really every pitty lovers dream!! Hes short n beefy and LAZY!! Super clean in his kennel ... (Read More)we'd love to say hes house trained but hes not living in a home environment to guarantee that. If you have a Love-A-Bull home and you want to add Mr. Mojo to your family please fill out our adoption application either on the website or FB page!! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in Iowa
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Iowa if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
