Rescue Me ID: 17-02-14-00157Kronos (male)
140 lb male pure beed english mastiff with akc registration and all paperwork. Due to recent job demand changes and his past issue requirements it is unsafe for him to be home with my 3 small children and untrained spouse. He is very sweet and has a huge need to please. Trainable. He listens to me and only me and is very nervous and comes off aggressive. He wasa friends, then in a rescue for 6 days when i took him from there b4 they killed him from tranquilizer and other medication overdose. Ever since he has had the anxiety issues and barks and snapps if strangers raise their hands to pet him. He needs a lovings understanding home with a strong dominant owner who does not train with pain. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-02-00291Booker (male)
Hi my name is Booker. I was adopted from a shelter in Southern Ohio to a nice lady when I was about 9 months old. Unfortunately, I grew to be a big boy and I was a bit too much for her to manage so I was returned to the shelter. They were not able to keep me and reached out to GWLR to see if they were willing to give me a chance. Feeling for my story they decided to let me come and stay with them and to help me find a new home. I am a big boy, play well with other dogs and like people overall. I may be a bit overzealous and energetic for smaller children. I am a strong boy and the folks at GLWR say I need to learn something called 'manners' whatever that is! I like it here but sure would love to have a home of my own. Come by and let's chat - maybe that could be with you? (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-09-00705Zeus the Moose (male)
Zeus the Moose is a purebred Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff) and a big sweet goofy dog. Protective and doting, this guy will butt-wiggle his way into your heart, home, and lap (he LOVES to cuddle). He's best with older kids because he truly has no idea he's a big boy, and may knock younger kiddos around. He also does well with larger dogs, for the same reason, he's very playful and doesn't know his size. Adoption application, home and vet check required. Don't miss your chance to have a Moose in your life!

PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in Michigan
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
