We are looking to re-home our four year old, 160 pound, African Boerbel (Mastiff). He is sweet, loving and very protective. Our circumstances have changed dramatically and he needs someone that can give him the time and attention he deserves. He knows basic commands and is very people friendly when he gets to know them and does well with most dogs. He does not do well with cats, but I'm sure with the right owner, he can be acclimated to whatever animals are in the household. We bought him from a breeder in Ohio and have all his paperwork, certification and immunization records. He has a couple of problem area's, he is blind in one eye and ... (Read More)has to be slowly introduced to people, he has a little bit of fear aggression because of it. He is super food motivated, and hard to keep out of the garbage. He hates to have his nails clipped and be bathed by strangers, ie; groomers. And he slobbers like crazy. With the right owner, these things can be corrected in a very short time, except the slobber of course. We are looking for a home that is loving and can spend the time with him that he needs. Someone that has some knowledge of dogs and isn't intimidated or dominated by a big breed dog. He needs a dominate, but kind, master. Small adoption fee required. If interested and would like to meet him, please call or text 406-two-seven-four-0996. Or 406-two-one-four-0930. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in Montana
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Montana if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
