Rescue Me ID: 17-10-17-00330Mattis (male)

Mastiff    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Mattis is a beautiful 11 month old English Mastiff. I got him to be a companion and a hiking partner, but shortly after he arrived my wife became very ill. She's not getting better and spending a lot of time in and out of the hospital. Therefore, Mattis is not receiving the attention he needs or deserves. He is a very typical English Mastiff in that he loves people and attention. He's a little high energy, but I attribute that to the fact that he is not getting the exercise he needs. AKC and I have all associated paperwork. He is current on all shots. I am willing to drive him to a new home within 500 miles of my location (Helena, MT).

PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in Montana
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Montana if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
