I'm a super loving easy going guy. I'm really a lapdog and love taking naps and sharing snacks. I'm big but gentle and love everyone. I need a forever home preferably with fenced in back yard and an owner or family to love. I don't know a stranger and think everyone wants to pet me. I'm good with cats and other dogs after I get to know them. Please give me my forever home.Vet reference, as well as home visit required before he may be adopted.

This is Miles, he is a mastiff/malamute mix, weighing in at 70ish lbs, approximately 2 yrs old. Fully vetted and current with his HW / flea tick prevention. Miles got his name from his rescue story. He was a stray wandering down a dead end road and Animal Control picked him up. No one knows the miles he traveled alone, scared, and abandoned, but all that is behind him now as he awaits for his deserving forever home. Miles loves nothing more than to have your attention. All he wants to do is be beside of you and give you his paw; he's nothing but a big ol' baby who just simply wants to be loved. He is a hugger too! He also enjoys his toys as he will just prance around just waiting for you to play with him. He is crate and house-trained. He needs to be properly introduced to new dogs. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-07-13-00210Ally (female)|
This sweet baby girl was owned by a close friend that died in May. We have fostered her since then. Miss Ally is needs a home with a family that can give her extra love her and care. She is 5 and since her early years has had a skin condition that requires keeping under control. The source of the allergy hasn't been determined. She has been on a grain free dry dog food, supplements prescribed by the Vet to help her as well as medicated baths. She has always been an inside dog with the option to come in the doggy door whenever she wants. So she can't tolerate being outside in the heat. Plus her skin condition worsens with too much heat, bugs etc. She is such a tender hearted girl. When she is outside she loves to chase a tennis ball and run, walk but does not wander. She wants to be near home and her people. My husband and I have known her since she was a puppy and promised our friend when he passed we would foster her and find a home that would give her the love and attention she needs. We have dogs already and as much as we would love to keep her, one more dog is more than we can handle. We are going to be very vigilant and careful about who adopts her because she is so very special. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-06-27-00365Zim (male)|
I've had zim for two years. He needs to be in a home with a tall fenced area. He is very protective to his family but to strangers he will be aggressive. But to the family he acts like a big baby. If I had to guess which breed he was mixed with it would be a Mastiff. So he's a Rhodesian ridgeback mix. He has all up to date vaccinations. I love him lots but he has already bit two of my neighbors. We don't have the space for such a dog. He is muscular and super fast. He doesn't bark unless he's bored. I trained him to sit inbwteeen my legs if I'm standing. He knows sit, stay, shake. And high five. Where he'll put two paws up while sitting on his butt. He knows roll over. He knows how to wait at the door if you are about to take him out. Or he will wait for a treat until you say 'release'. He is a very smart dog. But not every family can have him. I suggest he goes to a home with lots of land to run. If you are interested in Zim call 919-633-8356 or email email@example.com (Less)

Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
