Rescue Me ID: 14-09-24-00348Boone (male)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

Boone is a gentle giant in training. Boone is part of the Carolina 8 litter. This little boy weighed in at only 1.4 lbs when we got him on 08/09/14 and was up to nearly 10 lbs at 6 weeks old. Boone is a sibling to Charlotte, Clayton, Hershey, Eden, Kinston, Raleigh, and Shelby. These pups were abandoned on a front porch on a Saturday morning. Thanks to a quick response, assistance from Pet Friends of Duplin County, and several of our own volunteers, we were able to get these nearly newborn pups to a foster home who was willing and able to take care of and bottle feed the entire litter. We believe the littler was born on 08/08. Our ... (Read More)guesstimate is that these pups are GSD / Rottie / Mastiff maybe. Only time will tell! Pups will NOT be released until they are at least 8 weeks of age (10/5/2014). If you are interested in a puppy, we are taking application fees on these pups now to 'hold' a puppy - At six weeks of age, those people with application fees in will be notified and will get to choose a puppy at that time, in the order in which application fees were received. These application fees are NON-REFUNDABLE, but can be transferred to another dog at another time. Please keep in mind that, given their extremely young age and no knowledge of their background, any guesses to breeds and sizes when grown are just that - guesses. All Rottweiler Hearts Rescue dogs are kept in foster homes where they learn basic house manners and training. Every dog is spayed/neutered, UTD on shots, and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please email Please note that, at this time, adoptions are limited to NC, SC, and VA. PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in North Carolina
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
