|Rescue Me ID: 16-11-18-00502Miles (male)|
This is Miles, he is a mastiff mix, weighing in at 70ish lbs, approximately 1 yrs old. Fully vetted and current with his HW / flea tick prevention. Miles got his name from his rescue story. He was a stray wandering down a dead end road and Animal Control picked him up. No one knows the miles he traveled alone, scared, and abandoned, but all that is behind him now as he awaits for his deserving forever home. Miles loves nothing more than to have your attention. All he wants to do is be beside of you and give you his paw; he's nothing but a big ol' baby who just simply wants to be loved. He is a hugger too! He also enjoys his toys as he will just prance around just waiting for you to play with him. He needs to be properly introduced to new dogs. (Less)

Meet Ducky! This sweet girl is going to make one family super happy! Ducky is a very laid back dog who loves giving kisses. She has so much love to give her forever family! She would be great for a family with kids and is also great with other dogs. Don't let her serious face fool you...she is a happy go lucky girl but is really on the laid back side. And when you meet her and see her feet, you'll know why we named her Ducky.

3 year old Cane Corso Mastiff rescued from family ready to abandon dog. He doesn't trust new people and will show signs of aggression toward unknown people. He is very smart and loving to those he knows as family. He has never been around children and not sure how he would act. He needs a strong alpha male personality to control him. He is not good with other dogs right away.It took awhile for him not to pick on my submissive male chihuahua. He has separation anxiety issues and needs a home where he will be around people alot. He is a very beautiful dog. He's black with brindle through his coat. he weighs about 90 to 100 pounds. He loves to play catch, take walks and be petted. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-10-06-00191Mina (female)|
Wilhelmina (Mina) is a lovable, playful, 1 yr-old Bull Terrier/Argentine Mastiff mix. She is 60 lbs. of muscle (and a little fat!), and she is a loyal, watchful, and silly dog that has a clownish temperament. Mina is exclusively an inside pet; she has a large yard with no fences, but would do well in a fenced yard. She is ok on a tie-out, but we only put her on one if we are cleaning or doing chores outside-but for no more than an hour at a time. Mina loves to be chased, and enjoys car rides, and trips to the park. I take her running with me on wooded trails, of course, on a leash. She does not pull and does not require a harness. Mina is very protective of family members, but wary of strangers, and will bark and growl at them. We were in the midst of getting her into obedience classes before this rehoming situation arose. Mina would benefit from basic obedience classes, that would help her respect-- and not scare or bite-- strangers. My goal for her is to have her become an AKC-certified Canine Good Citizen! I've never rehomed a pet in my life. My Mother-in-Law had a stroke 2 months ago, and we have permanently moved her in with us. She is on oxygen 24/7, and her doctors say that the pet dander is making it more difficult to breathe, no matter how much or often I vacuum. Mom has also never lived with dogs (she's 82), so what seems like a 'normal household' for us (three dogs running around playing, fighting, and barking), has become an intolerable situation for her. We have to make this difficult choice in her best interest. We are asking a $150 re-homing fee, and we will be screening potential pet parents. Thank you for your time and interest in Mina. I hope to hear from her future fur-ever home very soon! (Less)

This guy came to us from a local kill shelter, he is approximately 1 year or younger, he is 70ish lb estimate. fee is to cover spay in neuter, can be discounted if you make appointment and I drop off and you pick up from appointment. he has his rabies, LOVES kids and other dogs, he wants very much to be an inside dog, he is house broken but will chew if no toys around and will dig in a fenced yard but not under the fence just in general. He is as sweet and gentle as can be and very lovable.. great with little kids. his shoulder needs to be vetted, im in no position to do so. has arthritis and swelling, he came that way from the shelter. Im in a tough position with personal finances so I am looking for a home that can take over his needs. fee goes towards vet bill! immediately! (Less)

Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
