Rescue Me ID: 16-09-17-00074Bruno (male)
I'm Bruno and I'm a BIG guy!! But I'm also just a big goofy baby lol!! I'm a 4 year old 117 pound Great Dane/Mastiff mix and I desperately want a home and family to call my own! My foster Mama describes me as handsome, debonair, smart and playful!!! I know some basic commands and am going to be learning even more at obedience training. I'm crate trained and house trained! I'm great with other dogs with proper introductions and I love kids. If there are kids in my environment, it's probably best if they're over the age of 8 years old strictly because of my extra large size. But if the kiddos have experience with being around really large pups like me, then by all means - if it's ok with you, it's ok for me! I'm definitely not an apartment kinda guy, and really need a fenced in decent sized yard where I can stretch my legs and run about a bit. I've been neutered, am heartworm negative, and am up to date with vaccinations. My adoption fee is $250. If this pet interests you or you have any questions about this pet, please fill out an online application at udranch.org/adopt-a-dog and we will be happy to answer any questions and arrange a visit! Please meet Thor! He's a 2-3 yr old Brindle Mastiff. He's just a big lug who loves his humans. He's lovable and well-behaved. But he needs to be in an 'only pet' home. He currently lives with a foster family, but they are needing to move to another state and are unable to take Thor with them. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application. The adoption fee is $100.00

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-13-00314Poco (female)
We rescued two year Poco from a kill shelter last week and put her into a foster home, so we know a lot about this gorgeous, 85 pound girl. She is a dream dog! Poco is wide rather than tall, a lumbering, gentle, easy going, laid back dog who loves attention, is easy around other dogs and adores people. Poco especially likes to play with her toys and hanging out. This is a gorgeous big baby, who has that funny bull dog overbite and grin. We highly recommend Poco as a wonderful addition to your family or for anyone who wants an easy going companion. Ask us for more pics and to speak with her foster dad. We don't keep good adopters waiting. Step up and welcome this very lovable girl into your home. We will arrange transport. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-08-00548Posh (female)
Posh is a beautiful black 1.5 year old mastiff/lab mix who is full of life, and has an unusual but very pretty coat (almost a chocolate/black/gray). She loves to cuddle and be with people! She enjoys playing with her foster siblings and plays well with others, but she can be protective of her things at times. An active family would be Posh's dream, she has an energetic spirit and loves to explore, but settles down when it is time to do so. And did I mention she loves to cuddle. She has been through formal training and would love to show you how smart she is. She walks crazy well on a leash, and knows sit, down, place, touch, and come, but still working on 'drop it' because she loves her toys so much and hates to let them go - she will try to fit two in her mouth to avoid having to leave one behind! She would do best in a family with older children due to her size and rambunctious nature. Any questions about her please ask! We would to you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-21-00253Bella (female)
Bella is a 7 year old Cane Coroso - Rottie mix that we need to put up for adoption. She really is a gentle laid back, inside the house dog, and yes the couch comes with her. She is house broken, does her business and comes right back in, she does not like the outside. She has no health issues. We have an Alpha female Rottie (Sophie) and recently Bella has been challenging and fighting with Sophie. Sophie has been sick lately lost about 20 pounds and now Bella wants to take over. It's purely an Alpha dog thing. Since I work, my wife cannot physically handle both dogs when they get into it. It breaks our hearts, but we feel this is the best thing we should do for Bella. My Vet had an experienced dog handle evaluate Bella and he said she would be a good dog for a home without other dogs. She is good with our grandchildren. Bella is currently at the Porters Neck Vet Hospital. She is good with people and our grandchildren. We have two cats and two small dogs that she has no problems with them. She just needs to be the only dog in the house. She is used to an invisible fence, but a fenced backyard would work. If you have any questions, please call me. 910-547-2687 (cell) (Less)

This guy came to us from a local kill shelter, he is approximately 1 year or younger, he is 70ish lb estimate. fee is to cover spay in neuter, can be discounted if you make appointment and I drop off and you pick up from appointment. he has his rabies, LOVES kids and other dogs, he wants very much to be an inside dog, he is house broken but will chew if no toys around and will dig in a fenced yard but not under the fence just in general. He is as sweet and gentle as can be and very lovable.. great with little kids. his shoulder needs to be vetted, im in no position to do so. has arthritis and swelling, he came that way from the shelter. Im in a tough position with personal finances so I am looking for a home that can take over his needs. fee goes towards vet bill! immediately! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-28-00287Luke (male)
Luke is a beautiful, obedient mastiff. We fostered him just 5 months ago but we cannot keep him. He loves to be loved. However, he is not too good with children, as in it isn't safe for him to be approached without a warning because he startles easily. He has never bit anybody and just wants love and attention. Would be best for him to go to a home with a fenced in yard and owners who have time to devote to him. He is not leash trained but goes on walks and will stay right with you. Serious inquires only please.

Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
