Animal ID: 86Brandy (female)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Brandy is a very sweet girl, who is extremely shy at first, but all it takes is to show her a couple of toys and she comes right out of her shell. She loves toys. She is a bigger girl who thinks she is a lap dog, and wants nothing more than to cuddle with you, of course when she's not playing with her toys. She does have an issue right now with her eye that we are having checked out by our vet, and possibly repair, check back for an update. 64 lbs. 3 years old. If you have questions or would like to meet the dog featured on this page, please call (216) 664-3476 to speak to an adoption representative at CITY DOGS Cleveland. Or email ... (Read More)citydogs@city.cleveland.oh.us About Our Shelter... CITY DOGS Cleveland is a program of Cleveland Animal Care & Control (CACC), located at 2690 W. 7th St. Cleveland, OH 44113. Public hours are Monday through Saturday from 10am-3pm, and Sunday 12-2pm. The CITY DOGS mission is to increase adoptions from the City Kennel by changing the image of the pit bulls who make up the majority of the kennel population, by preparing all adoptable dogs in the kennel for lives in loving homes and by creating as many opportunities as possible for the public to meet and get to know our dogs for the terrific pets they are meant to be. Our Adoption Process... Here's a little about how things work: All of the CITY DOGS posted for adoption are available for direct adoption from the kennel, unless noted otherwise. A handful of dogs are only available for rescue pull, which can be for a variety of reasons. You can either stop in during our open hours to meet a dog, or set up a meet and greet with your dog, which allows us to get the dog out of his/her cage for some exercise before you arrive. To set up a meet and greet, please email us at citydogs@city.cleveland.oh.us. About Our Dogs: All available dogs have been assessed. This assessment is a snapshot of who the dog is at that given time. Our dogs are strays and we cannot make any guarantees with regard to behavior, temperament or health of any City Dog. We do not know what kind of home environment they were living in (i.e. with kids, other dogs or other cats), nor do we know if they are house trained. Everything we know about them is based on volunteer and staff observations. It is very hard to tell with certainty whether or not a dog will be good with kids, cats or another dog. If you have kids in the home or another dog, we do require that they be present for a meet and greet with the dog you are considering for adoption. Health/Vaccinations: Dogs that are adopted directly from the kennel need to go to your personal vet within a week or so of leaving the kennel. They do have their DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella vaccinations, are dewormed once and have a microchip. In addition, unfortunately many of the dogs do get kennel cough. This is not something that is contagious to people at all, but dogs that do have it will need to be on an antibiotic. (Less)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Our amazing Oso! He is an 18 month old mastiff mix. He can be a bit unsure when first meeting someone new but then bonds quickly. He LOVES to play! Especially ball and makes the funniest noises when he sees you! We have not yet dog tested but he seems non reactive. He came to us from a home with cats and was interested when he met our tester cat but may be ok. He seems to like kids but we prefer to place him in a home with teens and older due to his size. For an application email rotndogz1@yahoo.com and go to our Facebook page at R.E.A.L. Rottweiler Rescue to see more pics and videos.

Bear - Cane Corso Doberman Pinscher Mix Puppy For Adoption in Ohio REQUEST TO MEET BEAR HERE! http://findmypetahome.com/bear There is a $75 adoption/rehoming fee. All supplies will be included. Bear is all that, and more! This 93 pound lap puppy is so sweet. He gets along so well with everyone - from tiny babies to strangers, other dogs, and cats, too. Bear has had all of his veterinary care done. He is neutered, up to date on shots and micro-chipped. He is perfectly house broken, and very well behaved, although his 'puppy exuberance' gets the better of him at times! Bear is looking for a very loving family to adore him, and whom he ... (Read More)can love right back. Because of his size, Bear can be something like a Bull In A China Shop, and will need owners who can be patient and consistent with him as he settles into being a more sensible boy. Bear is as strong as, well, a bear! He really needs a lot of work on his leash training, as he will pull and it can be very difficult to stop him. You could probably hitch a cart and wagon to him - he's that strong. Bears' ideal family will be people with rough and tumble kids aged 8 and up. He needs to be placed with people who owner their own home with a large, securely fenced yard. A quiet, country or very suburban setting will be great, as all the noise and goings on of the city tend to make Bear overstimulated. This is one heck of a special dog that will provide his new family with so many wonderful things! Love, devotion, laughter companionship, and a sense of safety and protection. Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Ziko, a three year old Boerboel/ African Mastiff. He weights about 150 lbs. super sweet dog -loves affection. He's very submissive to every human he's been around and in our experience with him, he's submissive to most other dogs (including our golden retriever and great dane lab mix). We did have someone rescue him and return him back to us due to him not getting along with another mastiff, so he may be better off by himself. Intimidating bark, but he's such a softy -it takes him a while to warm up to people, and even now if I raise my voice around him he's timid around me for a couple hours.     This is Lady, or Ladybug, as I call her. She is our current foster and looking for just the right home. Ladybug is 7 years young, still likes to play and be silly, but also LOVES snuggling on the couch. She adores children of all ages and can be found with them whenever she has the opportunity. We are looking for the perfect retirement home for this sweet girl. Located in Ohio. Please PM me if you are interested. It's time she had a home of her own! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in Ohio
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Ohio if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
