Bosco is a nine year old English Mastiff. He has a tan coat and is a gentle giant. He weighs about 115lbs and gets along with about any person or animal. He is a little shy at first but once he warms up to you he will be loyal for life. I live alone and travel a ton for work. Bosco would appreciate someone who can give him more space to run around in and someone who can give more attention to him on a daily basis. I have had Bosco since he was a puppy and it has been the hardest decision to let him go. i want to give him to a good person or family who can give him a better home. It was easy when i worked locally and was in College but now i ... (Read More)just can't give him what he needs. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-05-08-00126Waggs (male)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Waggs is 10yrs old, 1/2 mastiff 1/2 pittbull, he loves to be around people and kids. he only needs to be walked every other day or so, sometimes every day but it cannot be a long walk. he is house trained very well. he is mostly a lounge around the house kind of dog. if you have a fenced in back yard he loves to layout in the sun!!! He is a very laid back dog!!! doesnt even chase rabbits or squarrels if they are around... I have had him for about 5 yrs and have taken him to Scranton Animal Hosp, so i can get all of his records. his back legs are not in the greatest shape, i think arthritis is setting in. he has a natural skin ... (Read More)allergy but I have been feeding him with Venison meat dog food, which seems to help alot. Bath him regularly also, Dawn dish soap with Oil of Olay seems to work the best. i walk him regularly to make sure he is as healthy as possible. He is around 85 to 90 lbs. 1 cup of dog food mixed w/ 1/2 can new potatoes in the morning and the same in the evening + doggy biscuits of course... photos attached are from this year. I am willing to give $300 for food and supplies to take him. He would be really great for an older retired person or for a family who is looking for a low maintenance kind of dog. He only chews on bones and stuffed animals... I really feel bad, but I have to find a place for him quick or else I must drop him off at the SPCA or similar type facility. Thanks, Phil (Less)

Levi (known to us as Max) is located at ACCT Philly. He is a mix between pitbull and mastiff. He is a great companion, loyal, very quiet and loves a romp in the yard. He's a powerful chewer and needs lots of strong toys and distraction to keep him from chewing other things. He enjoys marosnacks, rawhide bones and will eat wet and dry food but he's a gravy boy at heart. Max would love it if he had a fenced in yard to play fetch and run around in a home with no cats and no small children. He is aggressive with young children and some men but gets along well with the ladies. Max is up to date on shots and neutered. He's currently on a ten day ... (Read More)bite hold at ACCT Philly. Please save this great dog who's only issue is his food obsession which can lead to bad behavior. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in Pennsylvania
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
