Rescue Me ID: 18-06-11-00108BLADE (male)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

This XXL Lab guy is about 100 pounds. He was adopted by a family but then returned because he was too strong for them. Here at the shelter, he is just fine as long as he gets a bit of exercise. This photo shows him chilling after a brisk walk with a volunteer. We are not sure what the mix is, but guessed it might be mastiff based on his size. He is a really nice dog who just needs some training and time to be out and about.

Rescue Me ID: 18-05-02-00137Princess (female)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Princess is looking for a castle to call her own. Ideally it will be occupied by low key humans looking to just enjoy her companionship. Older and wiser is her style, she's over the little kids who want to be hanging all over her so we will consider her to be placed in a home with considerate kids over 12. Princess is a reserved little lady who prefers to have a few people to call her own, versus a chaotic environment. She needs to be the only pet in the house but there's nothing wrong with that because she will give you all the love you need! She is a well mannered girl looking to settle down. Princess needs an experienced dog owner that ... (Read More)can be the leader and put her in her place. She will ONLY be placed with an EXPERIENCED dog home who is willing to work through her issues so that she can learn to trust you on her own terms. You should either have experience or be willing to dedicate a significant amount of time working with a trainer to correct this behavior. NARPS is willing to help with a trainer, if we can find an appropriate home! She is up to date on everything, spayed and microchipped. Rescue Me ID: 18-05-01-00460Bogard (male)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bogard came into NARPS in a crazy way. Other rescue friends found this guy tied to a pole in freezing temperatures this past December. Animal control showed up and whisked him off to ACCT Philly. There the vet immediately acknowledged he wasn't feeling so hot and pushed for rescue. We jumped right in and sent him off to our friends at VSEC Philadelphia for evaluation. There he was found to have an obstruction which required a costly surgery. We said okay let's go for it knowing that we would need to work our butts off to fundraise enough to cover it. Well he came out perfectly healthy and happy which made all the craziness worth it. After ... (Read More)the surgery we learned a few things about our large new family member. Although we don't know much about his past we can take a pretty solid guess that he was not being treated kindly. Bogard is a bit nervous, and requires someone to take the lead and show him the world is not so bad. He has a definite issue with men in particular but his foster is working with him on that. It takes him a few meets to warm up to guys. He is also only a pup, we are guessing still under a year. Bogard will absolutely require professional training which will be provided by NARPS for anyone who would like to foster. While he does need some work he has a lot of great things going his way! He is very dog friendly, and even doesn't mind cats. He is crate trained and knows his basic commands. Bogard walks wonderfully on a leash despite his large size. We do not think Bogard should be in a house with children because he has an issue with people touching his head (it crushes us to think what kind of life he had prior to coming to NARPS). If you want to help this very cool boy out please apply today! Adoption Fee: $200 Adoption Application: https://form.jotform.com/71169485384164 (Less)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Big baby who has had a rough life. He lived in a chicken coop for most of his life. I just got him last week and he is mostly sweet but is in pain when his back end is touched. He would do fine with older kids but younger kids is an absolute no. He loves being outside.

Rescue Me ID: 18-04-09-00117Gracie (female)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Gracie is a very sweet, 6 year old Cane Corso mix who was found as a stray by ACCT Philly tied to a pole! How anyone could do that to her we'll never understand! Her sad past has definitely NOT defined how her future will play out!!! Gracie is a big sweet love at 97lbs and has been waiting for 10 months to find her forever family! Gracie adores children and has no trouble plopping herself right on their lap but should be in a home with kids over 8 years old. She loves spending some time playing outside, or just snuggling on the couch. While Gracie has done well with meeting some dogs we feel she would do best in a pet-free home. Gracie has ... (Read More)basic obedience skills including sit, wait, down, and drop it. She is also house trained, crate trained, spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on her vaccinations. Her current foster family has nothing but good things to say about Gracie: ' Gracie is adjusting quite well. She is a gentle giant and wants to be around her people all the time. She does like being in her crate as that's where she sleeps at night. Even the groomer at the pet store said she was the 'biggest sweetheart and so gentle'! We are working on some more commands and she likes to play tug-of-war with her foster dad. She does fine with her human foster siblings who are 11 and 8 years old but due to her size, we'd say a home with toddlers is not ideal.' If slow paced is your style this gal might just be for you. If you have a place in your heart and home for a well-mannered older gal, Gracie is your girl! Adoption fee: $75 Adoption Application: https://form.jotform.com/71169485384164 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-01-26-00063Pippa (female)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Pippa, and I am looking for a family I can love. Pippa is a 3yr old Chocolate Mastador. She is being rehomed because Pippa no longer a fit with mom's new life. Pippa is a very fun loving girl. She enjoys belly rubs and being scratched on her snout. Her special treats are Starbuck's Pup Cups or frozen yogurt. She needs an active person (s) because she is a ball energy who loves long walks, hikes, and car rides. Her favorite games are tug-of-war and playing with tennis balls. Pippa understands 'friends' as her doggy playmates, and when she hears this word she lights up with excitement. Pippa is housebroken, current on ... (Read More)vaccines, spay, and heartworm negative. She has already been completely trained for you. She comes with several free trainings and several group classes. If you have children, they should be 12 yrs or older. Pippa can be a little shy initially, but once she warms up, look out. If you let her, she will be a lap dog, gushing with love. She is very loyal and will love you for life. Pippa is heartbroken. First, the only mom she knew left her behind for a new human family. Then, her adoptive family let her down too. If you can love this girl forever please apply to adopt her at k9dreams@yahoo.com (Less)
