Rescue Me ID: 16-05-02-00629Theo (male)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Puppy

(AC#4) Theo is an adorable little boxer, possible mastiff mix puppy that is out at our local animal control. This boy has a lot of spunk and he would be a blast to play with. He has big feet so we think he will likely be a large dog when he is fully grown. No one has came forward to claim him so he is ready for his very own forever family! If you are interested in saving a life please call us at 806-363-6499! All our dogs are only $100 to rescue which includes his neuter, rabies vaccination, and a microchip at a participating vet!

Kept on prevention he will eventually be heartworm free! He is a very loyal dog.

Mastiff    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Burney is sweet and very loyal. I can't believe I'm actually giving her away. The reasons are several- she is on medications that are very expensive. She receives allergy injections once a week. She is also taking oral meds every day. The oral meds are to treat her allergys also and combined together they cost over 200.00 a month. I just feel like I can't take care of her and all her issues.

I rescued Nash when he was 1. I have enjoyed this lovable animal, but my living situation has changed and I can't keep him. I now have the full-time care of a 17 month-old toddler and don't have enough energy for both. He needs someone who is good with consistent training and a fenced yard to play.He is completely;y non-aggressive but rambunctious and loves to play.

Optimus Prime is a 8.5 year old full bred AKC Registered English Mastiff. He will be 9 on August 19th. I have owned him since he was 6 weeks old. He has a wonderful attitude with adults and kids. Is very gentle and simply wants to be a part of a family. He has been with all my children from the time they were very young or new born. I simply don't have a home for him anymore. It breaks my heart to have to give him up but he needs a home and I can't provide that to him.

Mastiff Mix    Age: Senior

Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Morton was adopted from the SPCA just before being put down in 2010. He had a rough life before I adopted him. The SPCA told me that he was probably abused. Morton is a very sweet dog and loves to be petted on his stomach and run outside. It takes time for Morton to get used to new people but is very loyal. Unfortunately, he is not getting the attention he needs and deserves in my home. Additionally, we are moving at the beginning of June and cannot take him with us. Pets are not allowed where we are going.

Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Kiwi is a FANTASTIC girl who doesn't realize she's 102 pounds. She loves to cuddle and go to the dog park to play with her canine friends. She was adopted from a shelter who believed she may have been absued. She's very submissive and gets frightened of loud, sudden noises. She's never shown aggression and does spectacular with our children since the youngest was 3. She has been around lots of other dogs and cats and only wants to play. Circumstances with work and now living in an apartment have forced us to find her a new home. She was much happier when she had access to a yard to run and play in and prefers her privacy when needing to ... (Read More)potty (she doesn't like having to potty while on a leash, although she will) Recently she's been acting out when we leave the apartment for any length of time (chewing on a wallet or getting into the trash, etc) I work from home and she's never had these issues until we had to move to an apartment so her forever family will need to live in a house with access to a yard. We'd prefer she find her forever home locally with someone who lives in or near Houston who can give her the time and attention and space. She is UTD on her shots, heartworm and flea meds. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-09-14-00093Big Footie (male)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

None of the pictures are able to show the dance of his step as he has pleased you or the push of his giant head as he nuzzles against you for loving. Adoption fee used to neuter other strays: covers only a portion of cost to rescue. Big Foot or Footie I have always owned dogs and other animals. I had a career in education and recreation, serving in many capacities. I began dog rescue as a librarian when I asked children what kind of summer program they would like and they chose dog rescue, dog training, and dog therapy. I now live in land adjoining the Big Thicket National Preserve one of our National parks and a designated International ... (Read More)Biosphere Reserve by the United Nations in 1981. While it is a land of magical plants and wildlife it is also an area of Texas which had great prosperity through nearby oil, offshore, and refinery jobs that no longer exist. With a populace not yet ready to understand the need for an education the middle class is shrinking, more people are renters, few programs exist for low cost spay and neuter, and many fine animals are dumped. Footie's mother was dumped and she slipped into the woods to try to raise a litter of puppies as she competed with coyotes, wolves, raccoons, bobcats and other for food. Footie came out of the woods one day and crawled under my car for shade with his skin a mass of gooey gray matter that smelled foul. I took him the vet, Tom Granger, a college friend from Texas A & M University. I said 'We will have to put him down, won't we?' He replied no 'I will supply the medicine - you cure him'. I said 'What is he?' He replied 'A black dog.' Footie grew to be no average black dog. His name denotes big feet which led to a massive body. I looked at breeds and he may be a bangdogge or bulldog bred with a mastiff. In the big thicket people will have enough money and create an idea of having a great hunting dog, say a hog hunting dog, pay a lot then come on hard times and drop them in the woods. One of the characteristics footie has in common with the bangdogge and mastiff is low rank drive. Footie can be dominated by a bossy Jack Russell, or dachshund. He is person oriented rather than hunting making him easy to keep up with on a walk or in the yard. He is loyal and protective of the family and the dog pack but very responsive to discipline. He can be disciplined with a raised voice or a spank with a rolled up paper. He pushes his face against you, leans in, and falls against to cuddle or curl up and sleep. He loves to sleep in the bed but will sleep in a pallet on the floor or kennel. He is so soft heated and tender he has to be gently doctored if he has a wound. He is a fine, beautiful, loving massive black dog with a little white on his chest. He has made two errors in judgment in the whole period at Queen Oaks. Once when another dog chased the family goat he caught it by the nose and held it until he got roughly hollered at, releasing and slinking off to hide for whole day. On another occasion, the smaller dogs were chasing a small terrier, as all ran past him. He interpreted his job as a catch dog again and snagged the passing Jack Russell Terrier. Upon command he released; the terrier was bruised but ok. He is magnificent; I did not offer him for adoption locally because I was afraid someone would try to fight him, due to his size not realizing his gentle, almost fragile nature. He is all about trying to please, obey, and be part of the family. Smaller dogs can curl up and sleep against him or leaning their heads on him. (Less)

Health: Spayed

Jersey is a great companion that is a laid back, affectionate, smart, social butterfly that loves kids, woman, men and dogs. She is very motivated by human companionship but loves playing with dogs small and large. She has an alpha personality in the dog pack so to prevent constant competition with another alpha female, she needs a home without one. Her current foster home has 8 other dogs of all ages, both sexes, sizes and temperaments, and Jersey gets along with them all of them, but does sometimes butt heads with the established alpha female. She sits and goes to her crate on command. She is also house trained with or without a doggy ... (Read More)door. Right now her foster home has a doggy door and she loves it because she loves to go outside (when the weather is cool) often and hang out with or without her fellow foster dogs. As long as it is cool outside she will stay out in the backyard with her foster mom until she goes inside. Most of the time, Jersey can be found in the same room as her people. She comes when called and is very obedient. She is great in the car, loves to go on walks, enjoys going to dog friendly social events and LOVES the dog park. She loves hugs, kisses and rub downs and is a great snuggler. She is crated when her foster mom is at work from 7:15-5:15. She sleeps where she wants to at night which is either on a dog bed or in her foster mom's bed. She is estimated to be 3 years old and she currently weights 83 lbs. She was saved from the Alvarado Animal Shelter. If you have questions about Jersey, please email her foster mom Gayla at ggwiths2r@gmail.com or call/text 682-227-4240. We are in Arlington and would be happy to schedule a meet and greet. Her adoption fee is $200. This reimburses the rescue for all her vetting. She is spayed, up-to-date on all her vaccinations, she has been wormed, she is heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention, she is microchipped and her adoption fee includes registration with Homeagain.     Rocko was adopted in 2014 and two years later his owners decided they didn't want him any more and turned him into a shelter. We got him back because of his microchip. Rocko is a wonderful dog. He is a chocolate lab and mastiff mix now around 3 years old. He is a big strong boy weighing 80+ pounds. Rocko is fairly well-behaved - he knows how to sit and shake. He is housetrained and does well in the house. Rocko is playful and loves to play with his stuffed toy and other dogs. He likes to chase birds and squirrels. Rocko has a big bark. Rocko needs a permanent forever home with a family who will give him love and lots of attention with any ... (Read More)additional training he may need. Rocko needs experienced owners who will make him mind his manners. Rocko gets along best with female dogs and another well mannered canine playmate would be good. We want Rocko to be allowed in the house and a loved member of the family, with a large fenced yard with a 6 foot fence where he can run and play. Rocko has been neutered. He is fully vaccinated and microchipped. Rocko is negative for heartworms and is current on heartworm and flea preventative. Rocko has a $100.00 adoption fee and a home visit may be required. Please contact Marianne at 2 Many Dogs if you would like to meet Rocko. We do adopt out of state and dogs are shipped to the northeast for a total cost of around $400 (including the adoption fee). PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in Texas
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
