We have to re-home our big baby. We have had him since he was a puppy and he is now 2 yrs old and between 175-200 lbs. Unfortunately due to a mix of circumstances we are no longer able to keep him. He is truly a big baby, he needs lots of love and attention. We've been having some temperment problems with him lately (snapping at us from inside his crate when he's eating in his crate and now it has escalated where he will snap at us from his crate even when he's not eating) I know this is not his normal personality and it can be corrected with time and training from the right person! He is also not comfortable around strangers and is not ... (Read More)socialized, he will bark but he is okay if we're standing right there with him but if somebody tries to approach him he gets scared. He wouldnt bite just to attack but I think if somebody were to come after him he will bite out of fear. The neighbors kids have been caught teasing him thru the fence on multiple occassions and I believe this has added to his anxiety! So with these issues, lack of time and resources, the crappy neighbors and on top of it our landlord doesnt want him here I have no choice but to try to find him another GREAT home with somebody who is going to LOVE my big baby. I cant keep him crated, it adds to his anxiety and thats not the life he deserves. Please only contact me if you're willing and capable of showing him the love he deserves and giving him the time and effort to help him with his issues. He does NOT need to be in a busy house with people in and out or around kids. Maybe one day a long time from now he can but he is too anxious/fearful/stressed. We have a 4 yr old daughter who loves him and who he has been around but he is only good with her, other kids make him very nervous. The Houston rescue community visited Mike often and provided food and shelter for me and my sister. One day, our dad got very sick. They took him away in an ambulance and we never saw him again. I was so very sad. He was the only family we had and although our family was small, it was full of love! (Read More)they came to visit us and I was gone! They looked and looked for me but to no avail. In the meantime, my sister went to a loving home. The property owner where we were living cleared the land and put it up for sale. But my guardian angels never stopped looking for me! Sixty seven (yes! 67!!) days later, they got a call that I had returned to the campsite I'd called home. Where was my sister? And my toys? My food bowl? I was sad but as soon as my guardian angels showed up, I flashed my huge smile! Finally! A familiar face to give me lots of cuddles and love! They told me that I was safe and they would make sure I was taken care of until I could find a forever home of my very own! I am about 2 years old and weigh 90 lbs. I am a big teddy bear! I love to give hugs and am pretty sure I'm a lap dog! Aren't I? I am laid back, easy going, get along great with other dogs, love to lay in the sun, take walks and hang out on the couch. Meet Angus, the lovable orphaned mastiff/lab mix that would give anything to just play ball with you and be near you. He has lots of energy, lots of love and is very well behaved but would much rather be playing tug of war with children or another FEMALE larger dog...he does not like most male dogs. .. He loves to go for walks OR RUNS!!! He knows some commands but does not like to be away from his people. Meet Lucas, he is a Cane Corso Mastiff, 4 to 5 yrs old, trained in basic obedience who prefers women. His owner suddenly passed away & her children just can't keep him. Lucas will need a VERY experienced handler who has worked with aggressive dogs. I don't know all the history behind him but he was taken in by the lady who passed with aggression issues. It takes him a while to warm up to people (very protective) but once he does, he is a big loving teddy bear. Brazilian mastiff. 23 month old. 105-110lbs. pretty much full grown. stays inside. she has been raised with 3 other dogs and goes to dog park frequently. my mother has cats and 10+ dogs and she gets along great with them. goes for daily walks and or jogs. He loves to be brushed and groomed and have hugs and belly rubs. He gets along well with female dogs too. He can be slow to warm up to strangers but he is incredibly loyal once he gets to know you. River is a Mastiff mix. He is a beautiful brindled boy. Don't let his white face fool you. He is not a senior; we think he is around 4-5 years old. He was rescued from the Arlington Texas shelter. He was initially in temporary foster but he is currently in boarding. River is a large dog approximately 100lbs. He must be in an only dog home since he does not like little dogs. Due to his size and energy he would also be best in a home that does not have children. His foster father said that he was easily trained and learned very quickly. Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
