Mastiff Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Male Dogs Only, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My wife and I are trying to find a great new home for our 8 month old puppy 'Shiner.' Her father is an AKC registered Rhodesian Ridgeback and her mother is an AKC registered Boer Boel Mastiff. Shiner is considered a ridgeless dog and she is not spayed. She weighs about 75 pounds at the moment and she is a little more than half grown. She will be a large dog and needs a lot of room and attention. Unfortunately she loves to chase our 2 horses around the property which is starting to make them spook easily and our horses come first. We got Shiner when she was about 8 weeks old and I've given her all of her shots, so I have no vet records.

Marmaduke ID#16596 - Marmaduke is one big boy full of joy, energy and lots of love to share. He appears to be a Great Dane/Mastiff/Boxer mix who gets along well with other dogs. He would make a perfect running companion, and is a big teddy bear of a dog. However, he will need exercise, and someone who is willing to spend time with him. Mastiff    Age: Puppy

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

***looking for a TEMPORARY FOSTER home in Northwest Houston / Spring / The Woodlands / Conroe (Texas)*** Meet Morpheus (or Morph for short). He belongs to my son's father, Dave, who recently had a severe stroke (at 38 yrs. old-pretty crazy). Dave has since moved in with my son and I so we can care for and support him during recovery and rehab. Because of the circumstance, it's difficult to say how long it will be until Dave can take care of Morpheus fulltime again (anywhere from 3 to 9 months). Morph is the SWEETEST 1.5 year old male (neutered) Cane Corso who's very well mannered, kennel trained, and loves to play. He's about 100 lbs ... (Read More)and needs a home and yard that can accommodate his size and energy. Morph loves children and is the best cuddle partner. He's great with other dogs, but there have been a couple of male dogs he didn't get along with...didn't attack or go after the dogs, just showed his bravado ;). He's current on all vaccines and heartworm preventative. Expenses would be covered including medical, food, treats, toys, etc. Ideally, we'd like to be able to pick him up for a few hours on the weekends to spend time with him. If you or someone you know is interested in fostering Morpheus, please let me know. Thank you, Brandi 832-216-9081 brandiw1331@gmail.com (Less)

Mastiff    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Titan is a 2.5yr old Blue Cane Corso Mastiff. He is Neutered & UTD on shots. Titan is a people dog, he LOVES people! Especially HIS people. Titan was picked up as a stray August 2015 & brought to the shelter. I got him as soon as his stray hokd was up, his face called to me. He was skin & BONES! Poor guy weighed 90lbs , was covered in fleas & was food aggressive. Now he is around 150lbs, flea free & has no problem with me petting him while he eats. Titan does still tend to get a bit testy when other animals try to share his bowl, so he must be fed alone. Titan does not like other male dogs, but he does get along with cats & smaller, ... (Read More)submissive female dogs (he shared a yard with a Pit Bull/Boxer for several months with no issue) and will only be available to homes that have NO MALE DOGS. Titan is a LOVING baby. He is housebroken but prefers to be outdoors, he is kennel trained & knows how to 'sit'. He may also think he is a cat at times since he likes to pounce into your lap like one . As with most gentle giants, he does not know his size & tends to knock small children & even myself over on occasion. Titan is looking for a loving forever home. If you think your home may be it then please feel free to contact me. Vet check, references, contract, Meet N Greet with existing pets & home visit will be required. (Less)

This is my Osito (little bear). He is a super sweet loving and awesome dog. He's house trained, crate trained, walks well on leash, and doesn't have any food aggression. He needs some training but for the most part he is very well behaved. He's a few days over 3 years old. Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive

None of the pictures are able to show the dance of his step as he has pleased you or the push of his giant head as he nuzzles against you for loving. Adoption fee used to neuter other strays: covers only a portion of cost to rescue. Big Foot or Footie I have always owned dogs and other animals. I had a career in education and recreation, serving in many capacities. I began dog rescue as a librarian when I asked children what kind of summer program they would like and they chose dog rescue, dog training, and dog therapy. I now live in land adjoining the Big Thicket National Preserve one of our National parks and a designated International ... (Read More)Biosphere Reserve by the United Nations in 1981. While it is a land of magical plants and wildlife it is also an area of Texas which had great prosperity through nearby oil, offshore, and refinery jobs that no longer exist. With a populace not yet ready to understand the need for an education the middle class is shrinking, more people are renters, few programs exist for low cost spay and neuter, and many fine animals are dumped. Footie's mother was dumped and she slipped into the woods to try to raise a litter of puppies as she competed with coyotes, wolves, raccoons, bobcats and other for food. Footie came out of the woods one day and crawled under my car for shade with his skin a mass of gooey gray matter that smelled foul. I took him the vet, Tom Granger, a college friend from Texas A & M University. I said 'We will have to put him down, won't we?' He replied no 'I will supply the medicine - you cure him'. I said 'What is he?' He replied 'A black dog.' Footie grew to be no average black dog. His name denotes big feet which led to a massive body. I looked at breeds and he may be a bangdogge or bulldog bred with a mastiff. In the big thicket people will have enough money and create an idea of having a great hunting dog, say a hog hunting dog, pay a lot then come on hard times and drop them in the woods. One of the characteristics footie has in common with the bangdogge and mastiff is low rank drive. Footie can be dominated by a bossy Jack Russell, or dachshund. He is person oriented rather than hunting making him easy to keep up with on a walk or in the yard. He is loyal and protective of the family and the dog pack but very responsive to discipline. He can be disciplined with a raised voice or a spank with a rolled up paper. He pushes his face against you, leans in, and falls against to cuddle or curl up and sleep. He loves to sleep in the bed but will sleep in a pallet on the floor or kennel. He is so soft heated and tender he has to be gently doctored if he has a wound. He is a fine, beautiful, loving massive black dog with a little white on his chest. He has made two errors in judgment in the whole period at Queen Oaks. Once when another dog chased the family goat he caught it by the nose and held it until he got roughly hollered at, releasing and slinking off to hide for whole day. On another occasion, the smaller dogs were chasing a small terrier, as all ran past him. He interpreted his job as a catch dog again and snagged the passing Jack Russell Terrier. Upon command he released; the terrier was bruised but ok. He is magnificent; I did not offer him for adoption locally because I was afraid someone would try to fight him, due to his size not realizing his gentle, almost fragile nature. He is all about trying to please, obey, and be part of the family. Smaller dogs can curl up and sleep against him or leaning their heads on him. (Less)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

Meet Ava! She is a playful, loving, and very loyal Dogo Argentino. She's typical of a Dogo in that she can be calm and gentle and also very excitable at times. Ava loves car rides and meeting new people, and is well mannered when in public. She does great on walks, though will excitedly pull at the beginning, then fall into a calm pace. Ava came to us as a hot mess! She had been in a hoarding situation for over a year without medical care and was suffering from mange, secondary skin infections, and entropion (inverted eyelids). Now that she is past her eye surgery and she is feeling better overall, her puppy side is here! At the age of 2 1/2 ... (Read More)years old, Ava is finally truly getting to enjoy life. Ava is house and crate trained, will sit and make eye contact for food and treats, and would benefit from some training for manners - something her new family can do and use as a bonding experience. Her 'special needs' are her sensitive skin and allergies. The foster family along with Ava's dermatologist have figured out what will work for her and it is in Ava's best interest to have her adoptive family continue the care she is currently receiving. It is so rewarding to have helped Ava become the happy and healthy girl she is today. Now to find her the perfect family! PIease Read Before Adopting a Mastiff in Texas
Mastiff Dogs can make good pets in Texas if they match your IifestyIe. The Old English Mastiff is a massive breed. Mastiffs are very gentle toward their families. This is an intelligent, protective breed that makes a good guard dog but is unlikely to attack unless severely provoked. Mastiffs behave well with children but should be watched with little ones because of their large size. Mastiffs need gentle training and socialization from an early age. Mastiffs can live in an apartment or a home with a small yard.
